PPA Awards 2023

On Wednesday 28 June 2023, publishers once again gathered together ahead of a very exciting and highly-anticipated industry event – The PPA Awards 2023, held at City Central at the HAC in London to celebrate another fantastic year of achievement within the publishing and media industry.
In attendance for ESco were Susan, Louise, Alistair, Greg and Charlotte who enjoyed the fantastic food and drink, a private fairground (complete with dodgems, a carousel, games stalls and big wheel) another breath-taking performance from the returning ACM Gospel Choir and side-splitting hosting from the exceptional presenter and comedian, Ellie Taylor.
Thank you to Steven Barkess (emap), Chris Clover (Panini UK Ltd), Cara Northcott (Anthem Publishing Ltd), Bill Butler (Hemming Group) and Dom Holtam (Fieldsports Press Ltd) for joining us at our table for one of the most prestigious industry events of the year.
ESco were delighted to sponsor the “PPA Subscriptions Initiative of the Year”, which was awarded to our dear friends at William Reed for “The Grocer – Going for Growth”. May we once again offer our huge congratulations to the team at William Reed for this fantastic strategy which has led to a well-deserved win!
We would also like to extend our congratulations to our clever client, emap, who had a whopping ten nominations to be shortlisted as finalists and took home the following awards on the night:
Ingrid Fuchs of Nursing Times for winning “Columnist / Expert Contributor of the Year”
- Nursing Times Workforce Summit & Awards for winning “Event of the Year (Business Media)”
To our friends at New Scientist, for their following achievements:
- New Scientist Live for winning “Event of the Year (Consumer Media)”
- Graham Lawton of New Scientist for winning “Writer of the Year”
And finally to George Kipouros, editor-in-chief and CEO of Wanderlust, who received some fantastic judges’ comments for his nomination in the “Editor of the Year (Consumer Media)” category: “[George] is committed to diversifying his product by including more voices, developing digital strategy through immersive experience and is consistently providing impressive results.”
