Last week at Trinity House, we celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week with a series of activities designed to encourage wellbeing, connection and taking a moment to pause during a busy working week.

We started the week by sharing resources and guidance focused on supporting mental health and wellbeing, before introducing our Wellness Bingo challenge on Tuesday. The bingo cards encouraged small positive actions throughout the day – from taking a walk outside and stepping away from desks at lunchtime, to checking in with friends, staying hydrated and making time to properly switch off.

Wednesday saw us trial a Meeting-Free Day, encouraging the team to reduce screen time and swap some meetings for walking catch-ups and focused work instead. On Thursday, the team took part in Wear It Green Day, where we encouraged donations to the Mental Health Foundation in support of the important work they do helping people understand, protect and improve their mental health. The day also included a team photo outside Trinity House, with plenty of green outfits across the office.

We rounded off the week with a team social at The Lion in Finchingfield on Friday evening – a chance to relax and catch up outside of work.

It’s a reminder to look up from the screen occasionally, to drop your shoulders, breathe a bit more and gain some much needed perspective. Successful businesses are built by people, and sustained by healthy, positive relationships between them.

At ESco, we know that supporting mental health doesn’t always require big gestures. Sometimes, the small everyday moments can make the biggest difference. Huge thanks to Team ESco for getting involved throughout the week and helping to make it such a positive one.
