On Thursday 10 July, Team ESco headed over to the Barbican for the Memcom Leadership Skills Forum, a day dedicated to senior leaders across the membership sector. With practical sessions, thought-provoking talks and plenty of chances to connect, it was a brilliant follow-up to our debut at the Memcom Conference earlier this year.
Memcom brings together professionals from across trade associations, professional bodies, charities and learned societies – all keen to tackle big questions and share big ideas. The Forum’s agenda covered everything from ethical leadership and AI to financial resilience and future talent strategies, with a strong undercurrent of collaboration and adaptation.
Representing ESco were Louise, Alistair and Rob, who spent the day at our exhibition stand chatting with senior membership leaders about the challenges they’re facing – and where we can help. From creating a single customer view to enhancing member care and using data more strategically, it was clear that many organisations are ready to embrace change but need the right support to make it happen.
A standout session came from David D’Souza, Membership Director at the CIPD, whose talk on Leading Through Uncertainty felt especially timely. His focus on capability, capacity and readiness really hit home – and reinforced our belief that ESco can be the helping hand organisations need when internal resources are stretched.
We ended the day in the Barbican’s Conservatory at the Memcom Summer Party – a perfect spot to continue the conversations, meet new faces and toast to a sector full of passionate, purpose-driven people.
We left feeling energised and encouraged, with even more confidence in the impact we can make for membership organisations navigating change. Same team, new insights – and hopefully, many more connections to come.
