On Tuesday 2 December, we were pleased to attend the PPA Member Reception 2025 – an evening that brought together publishing leaders to reflect on the year just gone and look ahead to what’s next. Representing ESco were Louise McHale (Managing Director), Alistair Wood (Strategic Account Director) and John McHale (Client Services Director).

Held with the support of PPA strategic partner Air Business, the reception offered a welcome chance to reconnect with peers, share stories, and raise a glass to the achievements and challenges of 2025. Guests also heard from the PPA’s CEO, Sajeeda Merali, who outlined the organisation’s priorities for the year ahead – from strengthening first-party data strategies and building resilient revenue models, to embracing innovation, including the growing role of AI.

There was also space to spotlight the future of publishing, with Next Gen Board members Poppy Nash (Future) and Alex Laybourne (Haymarket Media Group) sharing their perspectives on supporting emerging talent and driving long-term industry growth.

At ESco (and across the industry), this time of year is more than just busy. It’s a brilliant reminder of why we do what we do – the people, the partnerships, and the sense of shared momentum.

We were delighted to mark the end of 2025 alongside fellow PPA members and look forward to continuing to support a vibrant, collaborative and forward-thinking publishing community in 2026.
