About ESco

ESco started life as a partnership between Susan Duffin and Elaine Wright in East London in 1984. The change to sole proprietorship in 1986 left Susan at the helm working for a small group of publishers and with a steadily growing team around her. By 1987, ESco had moved to Finchingfield in rural Essex, into purpose converted agricultural buildings providing office space and warehousing. Incorporating in 1995, the company continued to acquire prestigious publisher clients through word of mouth and this has continued to shape the future development of the business.

Over the years, the business expanded to such an extent that by the year 2000, ESco was offering a full range of subscription and circulation services to publishers. The data preparation and mailing fulfilment side of the business developed concurrently and today includes both publishing and a wide range of non-publishing clients.

In May 2006, ESco moved into purpose-built offices & warehousing, Trinity House, allowing for continued further growth.

Trinity House

Today, ESco employs nearly sixty people and continues to expand. Particularly rewarding is the fact that the expansion has always come about primarily through increased business from existing clients (who once they join, seldom leave) as well as through personal recommendation to new clients.

When asked to sum up ESco in one sentence, Susan Duffin said “Our services have become better and better over the years which is why we’re really good today... and I guarantee that tomorrow we’ll be even better.”
